Hi everyone! Thanks for the welcoming, you guys really make a newbie feel welcome! Sorry it's taking me awhile to get in the swing of things. I'm excited to be here!
I've been popping in and out for about a week. Needless to say, my real name is not rosemary. I am from Sydney, Australia and I get slightly cheesed off that every time they do filming in Australia, they usually pick Melbourne over Sydney.
It's not an accident that my recent nic craze has coincided with the new national treasure film, although the first movie that I ever saw him in was The Family Man. I went in without having seen the first one and I still got the plot so it was a good sequal.
I like both Nicolas Cage and Johnny Depp. I find it funny how they both report on always being on the brink of being fired with a lot of their films and then ending up making really big hits.
Hi Irish eleven, Hi Rowan! NICe to meet you! i hope you will find, as i do, that this is an incredible forum, for true real fans of Nic and his work! I look forward to chatting with you!

My name's Rowan, and I'm really excited I finally signed up for this forum. I've been needing somebody to talk to about Ncolas Cage, so this should work.
I live in southern California, a very beautiful place. I have kids and am working towards a new career, so I need a forum to come and blow off steam sometimes!
I originally saw Nicolas Cage in Valley Girls (though without actually seeing the movie--weird) and there was something about him that captured me. It may have been because it was the 80's, it may have been that he reminded me of my old crush, too. Anyway, I took interest in his career, and have been following him ever since.
I haven't been on a forum like this one for a long time (I go to imdb a lot). So I'm getting used to the graphics. Pretty cool here!
Hello, my name is Rowan, and I'm from southern California. I've finally gone for it, signing up. I'm always wanting to talk to people about Nicolas Cage, and need to find others who really appreciate him!
I've been folowing his career since he was in Valley Girl--a movie I never actually saw, strangely enough. My favorite has got to be Raising Arizona--Hi McDonough is so cute. And I had an old crush who Nicolas Cage reminded me of--there are so many things that led me to him.
Hi irisheleven, welcome to the forum, i can imagine how long it took to look at all the pics and posts, there is alot to get through....lol, i'm glad you like our forum, it's NICe to have new faces on here, we are a friendly bunch, so don't be shy just post away, look forward to hearing from you
thanks Flea! It is an incredible film, like an exotic box of chocolates dark and richly textured. One where the whole is greater than the sum of the parts even tho each aspect is superb somehow it is the ambience and flavour that stays with you ..very powerful. I love it!

hello all you lovely people! I have been frustratedly lurking for so long.. Only being able to access the web on a mobile, which wasn't powerful enough to allow me to register or contribute. But now a more powerful phone.. And here i am! I am amazed and delighted by the interaction that goes on here!

I´m 38, unmarried, a secretary, and live in Spain. I´ve been a Cage fan ever since Bringing Out the Dead came out, it´s his most underrated performance. I was hooked by his Jesus-like gaze, (and I´m NOT a religious person). His predicament on this flick struck a chord with me, he was tormented, full of compassion and on the very verge of lunacy, but at the same time tried to fight despair with dark humour. That´s Nic at his best.
And later on, as I gathered little pieces he´s let out in some of his interviews, what captivated me was his Heathcliff personality, so off-the-wall. I really, really admire how he´s freed himself from all conventions and constraints. On top of it, he´s sooo darn sexy, getting even better as he ages.
My fave movies of his are the ones in which he plays the weirdo/outsider: The Weather man, Vampire´s Kiss, Adaptation, Leaving Las Vegas, Red Rock West, Face/Off, Kiss of Death and Wild at Heart. And I loved what he did in Sonny as a director, he should try his hand at it again.
Anyway, I wanted to tell you guys that it´s always a pleasure reading your banter, I hope the bad vibes that have ruined other Nic boards are kept away from yours, because you come across as a happy bunch! Keep up the good work Lesley, we fans around the world are endlessly in need of a Nic fix. Thanks for supplying us.
Hi Mara!
You're so welcome and thank you for the NICe compliments.
I'm glad you like our forum and decided to join! Yes...we're a happy, friendly bunch here and pride ourselves on being true Nic fans!
I live in a suburb right outside New Orleans, so unfortunately we were affected by Katrina. We had about a foot of water in our house, but we got all of our repairs done. Compared to what some people experienced -- and what some are still experiencing -- I guess we were fortunate.
Thanks for asking!
Hi vampire Eyes!
sorry to hear you had to go through the ordeal of Katrina but glad to hear you're ok.
Wow....Vampire Eyes....I'm also sorry to hear you had to go thru Katrinia and deal with the losses. I simply can't imagine having to rebuild everything in my life. You must be a strong person. God Bless!
