Film star Nicolas Cage is starting to tackle his cash crisis - by paying his tax.
The US actor, 46, admits owing £8.6million. But he said: "Now I'm under new management I'm happy to say all taxes will be paid."
Cage is suing ex-manager Sam Levin for £12million for allegedly leading him to the brink of ruin.
But he is being sued for at least £11million by Levin, a bank, a property firm and his ex Christina Fulton.
I think they cut the quote a bit short. What Cage actually said:
"over the course of my career I have paid at least $70 million in taxes, unfortunately, due to a recent legal situation, another approximate $14 million is owed to the IRS. However, I am under new business management and am happy to say that I am current for 2009, all taxes will be paid including any to be determined state taxes."
What I find interesting is, usually Cage doesn't speak or make statements about his personal affairs. I suppose the scrutiny of the media has forced him to make a personal statement coming from him and not his lawyers or managers.
