So a friend of mine asked me if I wanted to go see Bangkok with her last weekend and I said of course! I looked online to find a time, and there were NONE in my area D= so now I'm all sad that I can't see it on the big screen...oh well, I suppose I'll have to wait until DVD
I went onto a web site featuring midford, and it gives his council tax bills...LMAO I think its for either 2 or 3 of the places on the grounds that he has to pay the bills, and i think the castle is in the region of over £2,000 , I will see if I can find the site again
I found it, now this is for 2006/07, bearing in mind that its now 2008, could be higher... Council Tax: Band Amount payable 2006/2007 Midford Castle H £2,466.52 Old Stables Cottage D £1,233.26 Old Chapel Cottage D £1.233.26
I knew he had to pay for either 2 or 3 properties on there, blimey, I can just afford to pay council tax on one property
Everything in London is expensive MGirl!...the rents, mortgages, food, travel, clothes, luxuries...and what's amazing is although we're in the middle of this credit crunch prices are increasing...unbelievable!
Wow! I didn't know that. It was around 11 or 12 dollars here depending on where, some other cities less, but at least its not like London, thats a lot. well hopefully it won't take too long to come to dvd there.
It's quite expensive to go to the cinema in London...especially Central London!
The Odeon Leicester Square charges up to £14.50 - that's about $26 - per cinema ticket so it's quite expensive compared to the avarage price of a us cinema ticket which is around $7. So on average London cinema prices are TREBLE those of us cinema prices!
I wait sometimes for them to come out on DVD, but i try when i can to see some films opening weekend so that it helps to contribute to the box office sales for the film's opening weekend. Though I can't always do that. I do enjoy watching films in the privacy of my own place too, so DVD is cool.
That's true, I always wanted to get them for a very long time, but didn't really bother as they were still high in price, so I waited, best to in the long run
I love the alien films, anything like that really, HMV used to be pricey, but they have cut their prices down a hell of alot, I suppose to keep up with competition
same here, talking of films, we got a bargain today at HMV, I got all the Alien films in a box set for £15,, well I didn't pay for them, I had them bought for me
Nicolas Cage thriller on top of box office, but earnings weak

Less than a year after starring in the biggest movie of his volatile career, Nicolas Cage returned to the top of the North American box office yesterday with one of his weakest.
Bangkok Dangerous, a thriller in which Cage plays a jaded assassin, led the lacklustre field with weekend earnings of just $7.8 million.
Cage has actually done worse: his terrorism thriller, Next, opened to $7.1 million in 2007 and the family drama, The Weather Man, to $4.2 million in 2005. But he was last in theatres with the adventure sequel National Treasure: Book of Secrets, which opened at $45 million last December on its way to $220 million.
After three weeks at No. 1, the Hollywood satire Tropic Thunder slipped to No. 2 with $7.5 million, while The House Bunny rose one to No. 3 with $5.9 million in its third week. Their respective tallies stand at $97 million and $37 million.
That's true, I love most of his movies, and I never listen to what critics say about movies, as what they like and what we like are two different things,
Over here, some movies have got the thumbs down by critics, but when I have seen them and I have really enjoyed them, so I just don't bother now listening to the rubbish that comes from them
If you like Nic, you'll like the film. He did good acting in it. I really liked this film. It was interesting seeing him play an assassin. I'm betting that Bad Lieutenant will be good, too.
Same here Chelsea, quite a few sites have given it the thumbs down, but I still want to see it, as I've been really looking forward to seeing it just got to find the time
Thanks for that little review! I have yet to see it unfortunately, but the reviews on rottentomatoes.com weren't so positive None the less I can't wait to see it
There also was great chemistry between him and his female co star Charlie Yeung which made it a good film, except they never did a romantic kiss which i found strange but maybe thats how the directors wanted it.
I saw Bangkok Dangerous today and it was great!! I haven't seen Nic play a bad guy in a while, but he was good. His acting was very good, and I liked it a lot. Corelli, there is even a scene where he wears a black leather jacket and looks hot! I won't spoil it for those that can't see it yet, but you will love it when you see it
