One of his best movies! Great script, great cast, great play... serious thoughts it brings to our heads, doesn't it... What is more, I nearly choked when he mentioned Bulgaria in the movie, I couldn't believe my ears Nice surprise, though To put it in a nutshell - GREAT. I'd watch it at any time. I bought the DVD and loved the additional material, too. Strongly recommend it!
it's actually real easy to catch i don't remember the exact scene and line but wes is sitting on a tank or something and in russian nic actually calls him SON... like be careful son or something like that....ring a bell? you know i need to have a nic fest weekend 'cuase things are getting fuzzy...
You're right...Wes is working on a tank and Nicky does tell him to be careful and calls him son! I also noticed that when he calls Wes son Nicky actually smiles in such a way that you know it's between real father and son and not just acting!

Great movie and like Flea I was impressed by the opening scene...very clever direction. Great to see young Wes working alongside dad! Also NICe to see Brit actors Ian Holm and Eamon Walker. I was very impressed with Nicky's Russian and loved the scenes where he talks russian to the waitress and it it translates as him showing her his 'cannon' and loved it when Nicky snorted the 'coke' lol. Great location scenes and very well filmed.
intruducing weston .....like father like son not wanting to rest on nic's laurels he waited for a role in which he had something to bring to the table he actually took russian in school... i enjoyed this movie a lot the opening sequence was really great.....
