well i don't think it would have had the same meaning w/ a different ending it shows us to appreciated the little things in life like the taste of a pear and to appreciate the gift of love and to enjoy every small moment that we have w/ our loved ones....though easier said than done!

I have to agree Ginny. I love the music, the performances, Nic is fantastic as is Meg and Dennis Franz but the ending doesnt quite work for me (and a lot of reviewers) either.
Its not one of my favs, Nic and Meg are wonderfull, its all so romantic but...the end itsI dont like it at all, it made my angry the first time I saw it, I couldnt understand why, why????
This movie is my all time favorite of ALL movies. However, I don't watch it unless I have planned ahead by taking a decongestant. I find that if I don't, I end up with a sinus infection from crying so much over the ending.....LOL!

This was the very first film where I saw Nic and I fell in love with both him and the film instantly! Almost everyhting about it is beautiful. My particularly favourite scene is where he falls off the building. The way it's done in slow motion and the melancholy but lovely music to accompany it.
The scene with him and Maggie making love gives my heart sommersaults! It's very hot, sensual and most of all very tender.
Oh and I raise my arms to frame by framing the shower scene, I do it to! Guilty as charged!
Nics acting as Seth is just superb..........love the way he smells things, interested in human life and when he "falls"...just amazing performance as he reacts to being human.
Never was 100percent sure of the ending but lovely film with a lovely soundtrack
our stud is an angel this is my fav when i saw him standing on the beach in those jeans looking out into the ocean something clicked in me ...i just thought what a beautiful creature a true love story he gives up eternity for her what a beautiful love seen as well oh don't forget the shower ( who else was naughty and tried frame by frame to see if they could sneak a peak? ;) this is also my fav sound track w/ my fav song IRIS

Never a truer word was spoken when Meg Ryan (as Maggie) says to Nicky (as Seth) ''you are so beautiful''. He did look absolutely beautiful in this movie and although it's one of my favourites I can't watch it too often as it makes me too emotional.
The scene where Seth and Maggie make love is so beautiful that I sob all the way through it and as for the ending well...I'm just a blubbering wreck!
I loved this movie as well.....I love it at the end when Seth's friend asks him if he knew that Maggie was gonna die....would he have changed and he says yes
