You're so right Di Nicky is a lovely man which is so refreshing as a lot of good looking men are big headed and arrogant but our Nicky has it ALL....... the looks and the manners of a real gentleman.
What made me become a fan? I was watching one of his older movies and was struck by his voice.....its so smooth and honey-like. Plus, it didn't hurt that he is so tall....I love a tall and elegant man. I love his acting style and the fact that you can tell that he is really a kind person.
This is one beautiful picture of Nic.....love those big blue eyes. I have heard that he is a very kind person and here you can truly see it in his eyes. He's gorgeous.
Love your reasons for why you all became Nic fans ladies!
I've always liked Nicky and his films but I became a real fan nine years ago in 2001. I went to our local library to look for a good biography/autobiography to read and I saw UnCaged on the shelf so I borrowed it. I loved what I read about Nic so I decided that I would begin to collect his films and any pics or articles about him. A few weeks later I was in central London walking down Charing Cross Road and a HUGE Time Out poster of Nic was staring at me from the window of a newsagents shop. I went into the shop and asked the newsagent if I could have the poster and he said I could. I asked him how much it would cost and he said I could have it for free as it was an advertisement and not for sale. From that day I began my nine year addiction, admiration and love for Nicky.
I had only watched two of his movies when I met him a few years ago. When I met him he was this amazing person who didn't once make me or my dad feel like we were interupting his space. I didn't even notice him to be honest. My dad pointed him out! (Rest in peace Dad.) We went up to him and he started asking me about my jewelry that I had on like we had known each other for years. I was blown away. After that I wanted to get to know everything about him because he was so kind. I will always be a fan. It doesn't get much better than Nic Cage!
I got a call to do some background work on the movie "The Rock"... They were filming in San Francisco, at Alcatraz Island. At the time, I had no idea Nic was even in it... I said I'd do it BUT, at the time, I wasn't used to getting up at 3AM in the morning!! When it came time, needless to say, the production assistants kept calling and I told my mom to let the phone go to voicemail. I never showed on set... Weeks later, I find out that Nic was starring in it!!
Later... it was when I was working at a radio station in San Francisco. Nic had a home near the station. I would see him raking the leaves in his front yard. I thought, HE IS SOOOO DELICIOUS!!!
Years later, I had the opportunity to work on World Trade Center... They picked a few of us to do a small scene with Nic, crossing him. Nic is very quiet on set. He doesn't talk to anyone with the exception of the director and maybe a few production folks. For some reason, our eyes locked and he said hello - I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT!
Since then, I've seen him at numerous Hollywood parties. He's really a hoot to be around!

i know we have discussed this in the past, but i thought it would be fun for everyone to share what first made them become a Nic fan. For me, it was after i had a breakup with a guy that cheated on me and broke my heart. To feel better, i started renting and watching romantic dvd movies. It really did help me to start to feel better again, to watch Nic in some of his romantic films. It was great medicine for my heartbreak to watch his films. Then after that i decided to start collecting many of his films and i became a fan because of his awesome acting abilities and the way that he can portray romance on film. also how he is not afraid to take chances when acting. I liked how he is very unique and how talented of an actor that he is. Watching him inspired me to start to take acting workshops and to do some acting myself. When i did a few small student and indy films, i learned how amazing it is to be in front of the camera and to be in character. I only wish that i could end up with half of the talent that Nic has and his ability to take chances and make them work great in his acting. so thats how I became a fan of his work.
