Oh yes, that sounds like a perfect definition of a critic! They're always looking for the bad, never the good. And if you look hard enough, you'll ALWAYS find SOMETHING bad. No matter how good a movie is! The trick is to just sit back, relax, and enjoy the movie!
Indeed!!!! It was a VERRRRRY nice outfit... ;D You really need to see this movie...
I agree with you...I never listen to critics either. My opinion of a critic is someone who, more often thatn not, has negative views of a film and as far as I'm concerned they're just someone with their own opinion so I tend to make up my own mind!
NIC WEARS LEATHER TROUSERS IN THIS FILM?! THUD! Hee hee!
I'd heard so many mixed reviews on this film. Most people seemed to hate it. But typically, I NEVER listen to idiot critics. So I finally got my hands on a copy and watch it.
I was in awe.
And I'm not just saying that because Nicolas Cage = GIVE ME HIM I'm biased. Cause I know a good movie when I see it, regardless of who's in it.
A lot of times, in movies, it's difficult for them to make the audience care about a character when your first impression of said character is that he murders people for a living. But this was not the case for Bangkok Dangerous. I found myself really caring about Joe (Nicolas Cage) even though he was a hitman. There was just something incredibly sad about him. They made that obvious from the beginning from his narration. He'd made it clear that he was always utterly alone. There was no such thing as trust. It made me wonder what on earth this man went through to become this way? What was his childhood like? When and why did he turn to the life he now lived? I was just overwhelmed with sympathy. Especially once I'd seen the whole movie.
I was expecting a crazy action film, but it was much more than that. There was depth to it. Emotion and drama, with a dark and tragic vibe. And the soundtrack was PHENOMENAL!!! There were great action tracks, but what really caught my attention was the soft, hauntingly beautiful tracks. The melody is just heart-wrenching. It just added so much to the story. So much emotion. It goes very well with the scenes in the film where he starts to fall in love with this deaf/mute Asian girl that works at the Pharmacy. There relationship is so sweet. There are some incredibly sweet scenes between the two of them. Pure, and gentle... and just... (you guessed it!) sweet!
I'm not going to say anything about the ending, since some of you haven't seen it... but it was so incredibly emotional.... I just can't even describe! That whole scene with him in the car... I just kept yelling in my head, "No!No!No! Don't, don't don't!!!!"
Did I mention he looks freaking hot in this movie...? That crazy black hair he has in the film is HOT. I don't care what anybody says. And I will never get enough of his beautiful tight t-shirts and fitted jeans... not to mention his wonderful leather outfits and motorcycle... *iz ded* (LEATHER PANTS!!! HE WORE THEM!! For like a 10 second scene... But HE WORE THEM!!!! :D :D ) It could've used a shirtless scene for Nic though... Just sayin'... But I definitely enjoyed the work-out scenes.. ;D
That man is *always* in shape. I have never seen him in any way un-fit. Most actors get older and fatter *coughALEC BALDWINcough* and wrinkle up. But he is virtually wrinkle free like one of those fancy dress shirts. and his physique is LOVE. I adore his calming voice, and his beautiful pale blue eyes... And that mouth! Don't get me started... GUH! But enough about my adoration... the movie was fantastic!! It could've done without the pointless shots nudity, but other than that- wonderful!
Oh... and I'll be posting a few caps I took of them film very soon!! :D
