The original is a Japanese film called The Ring Virus.
I love all those Japanese horror films.

When Los Angeles black metal band Eyes of Noctum comes to Fresno today, a little bit of Hollywood star power will come with it.

The band is fronted by Weston Cage, son of actor Nicolas Cage.

Eyes of Noctum will headline a metal show at 8 p.m. today at Babylon Club, 1064 N Fulton St. Cover is $8.

Who are Weston Cage and Eyes of Noctum? Let's take a look.

-- Weston, 18, is the son of Christina Fulton, an actress/clothing designer who started dating Nicolas Cage in 1988 and gave birth to Weston in 1990.

-- He started Eyes of Noctum in 2005 at age 15, keeping the band underground until 2008, when Eyes of Noctum started recording. The band's sound is melodic and dark, with bellowing vocals and fast-tempo guitars.

-- According to the band's bio, Cage finds inspiration in literature, philosophy, mythology and thespian arts. In the band, Cage calls himself "Arcane." His bio says: "Within the years of his studies, he developed a powerful ideology and later became captivated by the influence music has upon individuals and chose the destiny of a vocalist."

-- For tonight's show, Eyes of Noctum will be joined by local bands Azathoth, Ecryptic, Battleshok and Decomposition.
