RE: Songs that give you goosepimples!

Like you say Kim we went to the same camp, Dovercourt Bay in Essex.
We also went to Southleigh and Northney on Hayling Island in Hampshire.
All three were great camps and owned by Warners and were considered
a bit more up market than Butlins and Pontins! Lol.biggrinwink

My memories of Holiday camp songs were The March Of The Mods - a
1960's dance floor craze that was still danced in the holiday camps as
late as the 1980's! Lol - and Goodnight Campers when everyone
congregated in the middle of the dance floor and linked arms and all sang
        goodnight!biggrinwink

You're right on those holiday camps
biggrinbiggrin I also went to southleigh, and I remember that song as well,
even Goodnight Campers,  what was the words....biggrinbiggrin

Goodnight campers
See you in the morning
Goodnight campers
We see you are yawning

I can't remember the last few linesbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

That sure does bring back some memories, funny how certain songs of the late 60's still play today, and they trigger our memories back to when we was at the holiday camps, biggrinbiggrin

It seems certain songs trigger back memories from our younger days, another song that always reminds me of the times in the Holiday camps, is the original "Is this the way to Amarillo", I always liked that song even before Peter Kay brought it out as a cover version, and you should remember the camp as Lesley as you went to the same one DoverCourt Baybiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

This song I have always loved, I remember first hearing way back in the 70's when I was younger at my cousins wedding reception, and it has stuck with me ever sincebiggrin Duke of Earl by Darts, although this was a cover version, I prefer this one better.

This song by Eddison Lighthouse brings back memories, I was 3 yrs old and sitting in my parents car going to my aunts and this song came on the radio, everytime I hear this song, I can still close my eyes and see me sitting in the car listening to it, weird or whatbiggrinbiggrinbiggrin

This song just give me goosepimples everytime I hear it, just one of his songs that sticks with me for some reasonbiggrin

These couple of tunes have always been a great favourite of minebiggrinbiggrin, as my dad use to play them when i was little, on the old reel to reel, he also use to have a western album, and I loved this album, i must of only been young, and these 2 tunes have stayed with me, funny thing was Nic doing GR and the theme song was in itbiggrinbiggrin although the riders in the sky has been covered by quite a few people, my favourit is still the shadows
here is the tunes by the shadows

I thought it would be fun to post vids of our favourite songs that give us goosepimples when we hear them...songs that bring back special memories...
and say why that particular song is special to you!biggrinwink
Here are some of my all time faves!...Blimey...talk about a nostalgia trip!biggrinwink

1. For once in my life - Stevie Wonder - 1968 - this song was in the pop charts the same year as I went on school journey to the Isle Of Wight in 1968.
We used to have a disco every night and this song blew me away then and it still does the same 40 years on!biggrinwink
