thanks for the news. interesting he is leasing with option instead of just buying. Lofts are cool. Are there lofts in London or only flats and townhomes?

I am a huge fan of lofts myself.  Like maybe one in a upscale loghouse but old fashion feeling to it, with a loft both in the main house, say mixed in with a library and a sun roof that opens for stargazing.  Ah...if only.  *sighs*.  When I move to Colorado, I will be looking for a loft or a house/apt with a small loft within.

        You're welcome MGirl!biggrinwink

We have all types of housing here in London...flats, houses, town
houses, bungalows, lofts and even houseboats!
There are lofts all over London especially in newly developed areas like
docklands where renting and buying property is very expensive.biggrinwink

Hot Property: Nicolas Cage leases unit in downtown L.A.'s Biscuit Company Lofts

Hot Property
By Ann Brenoff, Los Angeles Times Staff Writer
August 21, 2008
Academy Award-winning actor Nicolas Cage has leased a unit in the downtown Biscuit Company Lofts with an option to buy. He is believed to have leased the 3,500-square-foot penthouse unit, which had been listed at $4.9 million and is no longer listed for sale, according to the MLS.

The building, in the hip-and-growing-hipper Arts District, was built in 1925 and adapted for residential use in 2006. The Biscuit has street-level restaurants, a gym and a market. The lobbies and corridors have ornamental concrete and sandblasted brick, copper doors and vintage lighting.

The unit Cage has on lease-option has 28-foot ceilings, exposed brick wall, hardwood floors, industrial-scale windows, Wolf stainless-steel appliances and a wraparound deck.

Cage, 44, won an Academy Award for his role as a suicidal alcoholic in "Leaving Las Vegas" (1995). He played an eccentric historian in "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" (2007) and appeared opposite Cher in "Moonstruck" in 1987. He also starred in the Oliver Stone film "World Trade Center" in 2006, about the Sept. 11 attacks.

Billy Rose and Blair Chang, Prudential California Realty, Beverly Hills, had the listing. Neither could be reached for comment.
