Has anyone ever seen the original Bad Lieutenant? I have not but i read that the character was nude in a scene. If anyone has seen it, tell us about it. it would be cool if there is a nude scene, i hope they make this one as artsy as possible.

Yes i read that it is very explicit and controversial. I would be suprised if Herzog would be happy to dilute the content, but then again it might be down to its production and marketing. I recall Nic in an interview saying the best bits of The Wickerman were cut to fit in with the rating.
Nic is the most raw and intense actor, capable of profound and deep emotional expression, and I would love to see him in a dark, gritty role. Maybe in this film it will be that side of his acting that takes a stroll down the catwalk!

I think the explicit nature of the film is integral to the themes, just like in Leaving Las Vegas, so I'm not sure how they would get around not including important scenes, unless they alter the storyline. I think a watered down version would just get peoples backs up. But as you were saying in another thread, people don't seem to be able to win with remakes however they play it!

I've not seen the original version either, but I bet there is no way that they will got the full monty on this version, would be NICe, but I can't see it somehow

i've not seen Bad Lieutenant, but that sounds very interesting to say the least. I think it may be like Sonny and be different, thats actually kind of cool

I've seen the original Lula...it's a very adult themed film and very controversial
for two scenes in particular...the rape of a nun by some youths and a masturbation scene featuring the main character.
I'm wondering if they (Nic and the film makers) are going to pull their punches or go for the full monty?! hmm weirdface

This one was a bit of a surprise! There are all the other Nic films in the works we've known about for ages, and suddenly this from out of the blue!

has anyone seen the original? Good to see Nic diversifying with different kinds of roles, he really is a very special and talented actor, able to take on such variety, I really cannot think of another actor who can do that as superbly as he does.
