How about the scene in "Family Man" when he goes in to change the diaper for the first time? His interaction with his daughter (MacKenzie Vega) is wonderful, that entire scene is so good.
I love that scene as well I also like the scene when he and Annie are playing in the snow
Loew wrote:Ah yes, I remember the first time I saw that movie I watched the scenes that he plays the mandolin multiple times to see the way he plays. I ended up getting the soundtrack because I wanted to hear him playing wherever I went
that's great Loew, You've really inspired me! I don't have the soundtrack.. I must get it! I have the soundtrack for Wild at Heart so that I can listen to Sailor singing 'Love me' and 'Love me tender' to Lula!
I got that soundtrack for those songs too! also the Chris Isaak ones as well

I love that scene too...it's so sweet!
The scene where Nic takes the baby to the nursery is funny...when he hands the baby over to the woman and asks if he gets a receipt! Lol.
Scenes in Nic Cage films that i've seen that I like: I love the scene in Family Man when he sings for her birthday I also like the scene in Leaving las Vegas when he pours the drink in the hotel room waiting for the call girl and seems somewhat embarrassed when she tells him what things he can do to her. I like Valley Girl when he hides in the shower in the bathroom and also when he walks away from her door after dropping her at home and has on cowboy boots and a leather jacket.(liked the boots and jacket) I like Ghost Rider when he kisses her and then stops and says "not now-its not good timing". And I like Matchstick men when he has dinner with Angela and then they dance.

City of Angels. "close your eyes..it's just for a moment", Seth runs his finger down the palm of Maggie's hand. "What am I doing?" "You're touching me" "How do you know?" "because I feel it.." "You should trust that".

Lol! Good one Rosemary! I like that whole scene and I love the moment we first see Antonio Corelli. My favourite moments in the film are each time Corelli plays the mandolin. Especially the night in the town square. I feel extremely emotional in those moments. For someone who only learnt the mandolin for that film, Nic had such musicality... Which for me is not just technique, but expression. There was such expression in his mandolin playing, it moved me to tears.

I love the scene where Corelli marches into the town and sees Pelagia for the first time...he salutes her and shouts ''bella bambina two o'clock'! Lol.

Italian soldiers are gathered outside the city's townhall.
Captain Corelli reads out a small note: f**k off. He runs back down the stairs Senior Italian General: Tell him if he doesn't surrender, we will storm the building in five minutes. Corelli goes up the stairs and stops halfway. Mayor: The mayor says if you don't know what f**k off means then come inside and we'll show you.
Zandalee has many great 'Moments' LOL ! We were talking about it in the dreams section. What's your favourite moment Kimmy? One of mine is when johnny and Zandalee are outdoors up against some iron railings and he asks her to take off her underwear..that whole scene The tension and eroticism is doubled by the fact that it is outdoors, public, in daylight ! Much is said about the sex in this film. But, as well as it being really erotic, I felt it was a very powerful portrayal of darker side of sexuality and relationships. Amazing when you think about Nic's age at the time, about mid 20's. He is such a sophisticated actor even at an earlier age than that!

I really think Nic should play again in a kind of Zandalee 2 LOL

There is so many fav nic moments in loads of his films that i love, that i won't list them all here, as he has so many great moments?quotes etc, the list would be endless Ghostrider has some good moments in especially the bike scene when he is trying to stop the van, most of the moments, quotes etc have been said earlier, and they are great moments
OMG Johnny...there are so many favorite Nic moments to choose from! These are some of my all time favourite Nicky moments...
In CCM when Pelagia is dancing with an Italian soldier...the way Corelli looks at her you just know he's fallen head over heels in love with her.
In COA when Maggie's nurse friend tends his wounds and he says ''I fell...in love''
In Face/Off when as Sean Archer he has a fight with another prisoner and says ''I'm Castor Troy...yeah woo!''
In National Treasure when Ben and Abigail are breathing onto the declaration... the way they look at each other you just know they want to snog each others faces off!
leaving Las Vegas.. You are right Johnny pretty much all the way through i was trying to think of a scene to single out but I actually can't as every single piece of acting in that film is superb. Elizabeth Shue is incredible too. And he was rightly rewarded for it
City of Angels.. Beautiful Seth.. All the you've mentioned and the scene when he meets Maggie walking her dog in the park, and she asks him, 'Are you married?' and about his clothes and he says 'no' just one word but his facial expression, eyes, and voice convey so much meaning...so very amazing. I love that about Nic's acting, voice and physicality are so integral to it.. Even if he is not delivering a line his body IS! And how hard must that be, to control your subconscious expression which body language shows, as well as the conscious!
Adaptation.. he should have got the oscar for it another film where it's hard to single out moments, although i do feel the same as you Loew about the 'Happy Together'singing scene..
O my word.. Amazing how much emotion comes up for me even thinking about scenes in these films.. i was gonna add more but i feel a bit overwhelmed just now..
Ok i'm back on an edit Leaving Las Vegas. The scene where they are sitting at the table to eat, Ben has just had a shower while drinking from 2bottles of neat spirits and Sera has prepared a meal. That whole scene, how he sits, how he looks, the way he can't eat, the whole persona of Ben, and they way he says, 'sera..' after she says she wants him to see a doctor. Again, just one word.
Matchstick Men. The scene near the end where Roy is working in the carpet showroom and his 'daughter' comes in. Heroic and tragic at the same time.
Bringing Out the Dead. I can't understand why more fuss was not made of this film. Frank, throughout, the facial expression especially in the ambulance scenes..tormented, exhausted, burntout. Noone but Nic could have played Frank so well.
Raising Arizona. How about the physicality of H.I? Awesome. The stealing baby scene. The moment when the dog tethered in the garden jumps up at him only mm's from his face! ''take your goddam hands off my wife'' great. ''i must not tarry'' lol!
Moonstruck. The moment Ronny stands up, pushing the table to one side, runs his hand through his hair (its this bit, so full of angst, lust, pain, energy, that I love the most!) just before grabbing Loretta and kissing her. The actual kissing moment is pretty good too! The scene outside when it's snowing and Ronny talks to Loretta about what love is and isn't. That's breathtaking acting. The moment Loretta slaps Ronny and says ''snap out of it!'' the look on Ronny's face!
Now, excuse me while I try to bring myself back to some normal level. this thread should come with a health warning! It can rip your heart out with emotion.. because I can't just think of this stuff in my head.. and that is because Nic's acting is so incredible and channels pure emotion! .

Nice one Johnny, this was a good board to start You all have named the ones I can think of at the moment, although I also love the scene in Adaptation when Charlie is singing Happy Together to Donald. That part made me tear
City of Angels has always been my favorite along with Leaving Las Vegas, the whole movie stands out in both cases, but when he makes the active choice too drink himself to death and firmly carries it out, even when love shows up...wow. I can relate. And with COA, again I can relate and often wonder the pain Angels must go thru in order to have unconditional love for everything else...but themselves.

oooh good one Johnny. Sparklit ATE our favourite National treasure 1 moments..! But this is so much better! There are so many.. I love all the one you've listed. I may have to just post mine separately, my brain can only handle 1 ecstatic plateau at a time today I love the moment at the end of Conair when he reunites with his wife and daughter who he's not yet met. The expression on his face as his little girl hugs him and he hugs his wife... What superb and moving acting.

I apologise if Ive done this before....we all know Nic is a wonderful, intense, versatile amazing actor but what are your moments that really made you think "wow!" for me-
City Of Angels - After he "falls" and he sees his blood and he is so happy to be a human. I love the scenes where he is naive and dancing and singing through the streets. Some of the best acting EVER and that moment where he reacts to having a cut cleaned at the hospital. Superb
Leaving Las Vegas - Pretty much all the way through!
Face/Off - Drugged up as Travoltas character. Also the scene where he tells his wife who he really is and the "all night dentist" story
Family Man - Nappy changing!/The "la la la means i love you" viewing scene/his whole performance really
8mm - When he breaks down at the end after all he has been through/The killing.
Wild At Heart - The "Elvis" moments
Guarding Tess - His anger/heartbreak in the hospital scene
World Trade Center - The character reciting The Lords Prayer when they believe they are doomed.
It Could Happen To You - When Bridget Fonda and his character are hugging at the end after losing everything.
Matchstick Men - Pissssss bloooooood - chemist scene and the "tics" Im sure I have forgoten some...so many great "moments"
