Good logic there Kim!
Maybe it's as you say...it's to do with the side of the road we drive on but another question is why did they make it left or right in the first place? If that makes any sense?!

Actually Kimmy they do drive with the steering wheel on the left hand side in Europe. In Great Britian we drive with the steering wheel on the right! In answer to your question I have no idea why some places have left hand driving and others have right hand driving!
All our cars over here are right hand drive, unless they are imports which then would be left hand side cars, i dont even know if i could ever drive a left hand one, as i have been so use to cars right hand side, it would feel weird to me, most of your cars are automatic transmissions so you dont really need to use the gears, mine is manual, and i am so used to using my left hand to change gears, that if i was to drive a left hand side car i would need to have an automatic as i wouldn't be able to use my right hand, I know that sounds a bit weird...lol
You should go to Italy...the cars mount the pavements and pedestrians walk in the middle of the road! Lol.
Paris is a nightmare too but let's face it...ANY big city must have it's traffic problems!

It's right what you said Lesley, if you can drive around London, you can drive anywhere, but it's a pain, too many cars nowdays, i moan about the cars and parking where i live, and crossing the roads, i always tell my girls, watch where you cross the roads, don't take chances even if you have to walk a way to the crossings, better to be safe than sorry. They even say that Paris is a nightmare to drive around as well, can't be any worse than London! around Hyde Park Corner is the worst i've seen, it's every man for themselves, The best vehicles to be in to drive around London is the 40ft lorries, i use to love it, everyone moves out of the way..lol, don't want to be squashed by massive lorry

I remember years ago when I was taking driving lessons...my driving instructor got me driving 'round Hyde Park Corner in the rush hour...if can drive in central London in the rush hour you can drive ANYWHERE! LMAO!!!!

Interesting quote from Nic in that second article Kim!.......
''I'm not a very good driver in England,'' Cage says somewhat sheepishly. I have trouble even walking across the street in London, so it was a challenge.''
If it's of any consolation Nic...I'm a native Londoner and even I find driving in London and walking across the street in London a nightmare! Lol.
