I believe there have been many vixen incarnations, spider vixen, vampire vixen, I'm not familiar with this one though.
I'm a little rusty on this - it was a while ago i studied english lit at a university whose motto is ''do different'' and in my final year I specialized in ''the feminist imagination in science fiction''!! yes it was so cool. My final thesis was ''can popular forms have radical content?'' (i was thinking about how to change the world) .....and realised if you become secular and alternative, you alienate people and don't change anything; but if you create popular, accessible stuff, you can really challenge attitudes (and i have been really excited to read interviews with Nic where he has said a similar thing about the roles and films he chooses).
thats why i like science fiction and comics and love super heroes and heroines cos by taking you out of the real world they shed light upon it. Anyway..sorry carried away..lol.. And part of the whole thing was looking at comic books, films, popular artforms including superheroines. Thats when I came across VIXEN, who was created by DC comics, was the first black superheroine and had magical powers. I can't remember it all, but she did once trounce superman! lol i think she is the original. I'll try to find a pic and send to you Corelli so you can post it!

Lol.. we truly are superheroines in our own right! you ever heard of 'Tank Girl' ? A Uk comic, with an anarchic punk vibe. I'm not sure if she's still around, the writing style became increasingly stream of consciousness, almost psychedelic, which i loved, but i think it weirded itself out of the market!
Talking of superheroines do you vixens know that there was an actual superheroine comic book character called VIXEN? I can't fully remember the detail and I don't think she's around anymore, but her special power was she could transform into animals!cool i think it's time she was brought back, or maybe reinvented by us, hey vixens?! lol

And Nic is the man to do it. Ghostrider is a far more multi dimensional character than the other comic book heroes who have made it into film. And there is depth. The original comics are alot darker.
