That's interesting Mgirl, i didn't know about that, so he actually sings a song i wonder what he is singing Perhaps one day when he is tired of acting, you never know, he may start up a workshop or something, as then he is still working in the acting field, but not acting himself, retired so he is still doing something he loves, but in a different way, teaching! with his knowledge and acting abilities he would make a great teacher
Well remember if you saw it in the DVD of the film Next, how in the making of the film part where he sung a song before he jumped off of the cliff. Maybe that could be why he sung that song, to get his mind off of what he had to do because he was high up and had to jump off. I like how that article says that Nic's acting style is from his gut reaction. He is such a great actor. I wish that one day he would offer an acting workshop for actors or write a book on acting. I very much respect his acting skills.
Now i agree with you on lifts i was stuck in one for hours when i was little and had to have the fire brigade to get me out, so i'm a bit wary on them. Spiders i'm fine, love them, snakes love them, its just the flying insects i hate, as i was stung a few times anything with wings.... i hate them
I don't like heights, lifts, closed in spaces or spiders!...So...if you shut me in a lift full of spiders 40 storey's high I'd totally freak out! LMAO!
I'm not too bad on heights i dont have a phobia of it, my only fear is wasps and bee's, But i can imagine on some of the film sets when actors do have to climb heights, can be frightening for someone who is afraid of them. A big tough sexy guy like our Nic ..lol i would never have believed he was afraid of heights, just goes to show you learn something new everyday
A bit of interesting news, it maybe old, but i've never seen this
NICOLAS Cage is afraid of heights, Dustin Hoffman is a commitment-phobe, and Jim Carrey is an attention-seeker.
Those are just some of the insights American director Brad Silberling has offered into some of Hollywood's biggest stars.
Speaking via satellite from Los Angeles to the Australian Directors Guild conference in Sydney this morning, the director of blockbusters such as Casper and Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events, spilt the beans on the actors he has worked with during his 18-year career.
Mr Silberling said working with Nicolas Cage and Meg Ryan on City of Angels was challenging because of their very different acting styles - Cage acts on gut reaction while Ryan thinks and talks everything through.
But a bigger problem was the fact that one week before shooting was due to start, Cage, who plays an angel in the film, revealed he was terrified of heights.
"I remember taking him up to this helipad where we were building that huge open construction site that's in the film, and I said 'this set is going up and (this won't work) if you're going to get up there and be locked up and catatonic," Mr Silberling said.
"So we went up this 12-step ladder together and he got up the top and he was white.
"I said 'look you don't have to do this' ... and he got up really close to my face and said, 'no, I'm Superman!'.
"He was supposed to play Superman next for the same studio even though he was afraid of heights and he didn't want to lose his job.
"He got through the whole movie, I was very proud of him."
