Good question MGirl! I don't think I've ever seen Magnum playing on a cable channel or in re-runs either. I wonder why that it? As to why Nic has never done a TV series....from what I understand Film Actors only go there when either they are not getting the offers they want for films or when they are trying to make some sort of life style change and doing a weekly TV series suits their personal lives better.
My husband asked the question of why Tom Selleck himself never got a Magnum movie off the ground. I mean....why not bring the crew back now? I think they're all alive at this point but maybe some are retired?
Also, I did alittle research on the original actors and I was amazed to find out that T.C. (played by Roger Mosley) was only a few years younger (in real life) than the actor who played Higgins was!!!!

I thgink that if Nic does this film, that it will be great because i thyink that a lot of people would want to see a remake of Magnum PI as it was very popular I hear. I also was just wondering why Nic has never done any TV series. Instead he has done all films. I wonder why that is? I wonder if he will ever consider doing a TV series in the future?
It would be so cool if this project could seriously create some buzz in the acting community and other high profile stars would sign on for the fun of it. I mean....the age of the characters would correspond to the right ages of the original fans of the series.....They GREW up on the series....if you know what I mean!
I can so easily see a bunch of A listers in these roles having fun together. Sorta like in the Ocean 11 series.................

JUST veered?!...my dear girl...my mind has been veering to the naughty for quite sometime now! Hee hee! Lol. Can't you just tell the dental torture is healing and I'm getting back on form! Lol.
Gads....my hub was right! If Nic and Company could line up the right supporting characters, this project could be a blast and a success! And just think.....Nic could use one of his own fire engine red Ferrari's in the flick!
Wouldn't ya just die for a scene with Nic in that Navy dress uniform Magnum would wear once in a while?

Agatha is a Brit. And she's such a sweet creature. Higgy relies on her friendship all the time but is totally oblivious that she's in love with him. I think in this movie, the two of them should end up together!

Well I don't remember the Agatha character so I didn't remember her being meek and sweet as you say! Lol.
So yes...maybe Dame Judi may be a bit too old and strong for the role?! It's strange we've mentioned two British actresses there...is Agatha a Brit or is it just anyone could play her Brit or American?
Can Dame Judy play a really meek and sweet woman? She always seems to play such strong women. Redgrave has the 'look' of the old Agatha, long, thin, scraggly face and I've seen her in comedic roles. That's why she popped into my mind. But she's too old to play against Suchet. Dame Judy might be too......

Agatha was the very mousy but extremely sweet and loving woman who had a major crush on Higgy Baby. I can see Vanessa Redgrave in the role of Agatha but not if she had to play against Suchet

Well...I've already said that David Suchet would be an excellent idea for Higgings and if Rick is the blonde guy then how's about Sam Rockwell from Matchstick Men?!
