Thanks for all the replys on the King Arthur topic! I had no idea this many people would be interested in it. I loved the movie Mists of Avalon! I have the soundtrack too!
Has anyone read the novel 'The Mists of Avalon' by Marion Bradley? It's about the rise and fall of Camelot as seen through the eyes of Guinevere and Morgaine (Arthur's sister). It's the book that first sparked my interest in all things Arthurian.

I don't think I ever heard about him liking King Arthur stuff but that's neat. I'm not really into that kind of thing. But I would like to read your poem too.
That's funny.....about Lancelot being a cad with the women in the cartoon. Wait till you read my poem....it's more about Lancelot than Arthur.....I did try to find the poem tonight but no luck. Hopefully I'll find it tomorrow!

Talking of King Arthur...does anyone remember the American cartoon show from the 1970's/80's? called ''Arthur, King of Camelot''? It was a really sweet show with cute characters of Arthur, Guinevere and Sir Lancelot who was a bit of a cad with the ladies! Lol.
Years ago I wrote a poem using the King Arthur, Guinevere, Lancelot bit.....if I can find it I will try to post it.....(just to add something to the thread....not that it has anything to do with Nic....LOL)

I know Nicky is into Arthurian legend because he, apparently, bought his house in Somerset (the country house not the Bath town house) because it had links with King Arthur and the area has mystical qualities!
I'm very deeply into the Arthurian legends and part of my work is helping people using the tales. The dilemma is that there are so many books with so many different variations on the legends. I heard that when Nic visited Glastonbury a while ago he bought alot of Arthurian related books. I would love to know which ones he has read!

As far as what you say about King Arthur and the interview, maybe it was just something that he had read at that time or something. hopefully no one has ever betrayed him like King Arthur's story, Nicolas seems very smart of a person, so i am sure he wouldn't allow it. he also seems like he is a very kindhearted person, look how nice he was to Corelli when she met him in London. 9
I think that Arthur may have been bright and golden but that he probably was one of those kind of people who create their own problems in life.
I'm with you in hoping that Nic wasn't referencing King Arthur because he relates to him in this way but if he is....he should try to remember that it's never too late to change the path you're on at any point in life. And change is good!
Also....the adage 'do unto others as you would have done onto you' is a fantastic way to live. It usually clears up alot of mess when ya start living this way. :)

I thought the article was pretty interesting. Someone else had asked about how King Arthur was betrayed and I looked it up. Here's what I found: "Arthur was great, he was glorious and good and golden - but his wife ran off with someone else, he was in love with another woman as well, his best friend cuckolded him, his son decided to murder him, his people abandoned him en masse, and - not surprisingly, given the degree to which he was betrayed - Arthur failed, and his realm came crashing down about him. "
I thought that was pretty interesting too. I hope Nick isn't referencing his own personal experiences through Arthur. That would be very sad. What do you guys think?
