Nic has never done an historical type film. I'd love to see him as a Roman soldier or a knight in a King Arthur type film. I have fantasys about him on horseback wearing chain mail!!! (that belongs in the naughty girls chat!)

I love that word......CONUNDRUM! It rates right up there with the words Doohickies and Fuddgadaboudit! ;)
I love all your ideas, Corelli! A western, a musical or a dark murder mystery (where Nic plays a suave and sophisticated serial killer) would all be fun to see Nic play in.
Each of them would need a very strong plot line to be a success.
Anyone else?
Here's one.....
I'd like to see Nic play a ****y successful man who is self assured and narcisstic (think along the lines of Roger in GISS).
In the first half of the movie he's a player/seducer of women and in the second half of the movie the tables would be turned on him and he'd get his just desserts by a bunch of spurned women.
I can see this movie as a comedy of sorts (think The First Wives Club) and I would LOVE to see Nic do a real comedy again.
BTW, Years ago there was some talk of Nic doing a movie something like this. I can't remember the title or even when it was but I vaguely remember it......Too bad it never got off the ground!

What a conundrum to stimulate the little grey cells!
Nic has never done a western so it would good to see him as a sexy cowboy riding his horse. I'm not a big fan of westerns/cowboy films but I would make an exception if Nic were to star in one!
Also...how about Nic in a musical! Richard Gere did great in Chicago so I don't see why the talented Mr. Cage shouldn't treat us to his vocal talents!
On the darker side I would like to see Nic play a serial killer along the lines of British 1950's serial killer John Christie of 10 Rillington Place.
It's fine for actors to do all the light hearted run of the mill stuff but very few actors can, and will, take on more controversial roles. Kevin Bacon and Gary Oldman are an exception..they play some really vile characters but still come through with their careers in tact. Maybe this is where Nic's acting future lies...in the controversial, dark genre in which we would maybe see another Oscar winning performance.
I was thinking last night about Nic. No surprise there, right ladies? LOL!
Anyhoo.....I got to thinking that while I always enjoy watching Nic in every movie that some of his latest character roles all seem to have similar personalities. Ya know...tormented psyches (in one form or another).
Think the OCD guy in Matchstick Man, the ass in Weatherman, the battle scared soldier in Windtalkers, the guilt-ridden paramedic in Bringing Out the Dead, the traumatically stressed cop in Wicker Man and so on......
Anyhoo, I've been saying for years that I'd love to see Nic return to lighter fare again. What do you guys think?
I was also wondering what you guys thought about this.....
I was thinking that for a creative guy like Nic, it must be hard to find NEW characters with NEW personality traits to portray. I mean, the man has played almost 50 characters by now. Just how many ways CAN an actor find a way to play a role?
It's got to be really hard to keep coming up with a totally new persona and be able to pull it off.....
Anhooo...........I am babbling.....and trying to start some give and take conversation!
Anyone game??
